DIG
Digestive disorders are one of the most common health problems people are plagued with today. Both the old and the young are having more digestive problems. Improper digestion can cause fermentation and intestinal gases which are connected with cancer and other diseases.
The Digestive System includes the mouth, the pharynx (throat), esophagus (the muscular and extending from below the tongue to the stomach), the stomach, the small intestines and the large intestines. The organ structures and the glands which comprise this system work together, processing food from the moment of intake to the time of excretion. The glands which perform vital digestive functions are the salivary glands, the gastric glands, the intestinal glands, the liver and the pancreas.
Digestive upsets are mainly caused by stress, constipation, faulty diet, drugs, alcohol and tobacco.
Over-production of acid in the stomach leads to gastritis, when the stomach lining becomes inflamed. This results in discomfort, nausea, heartburn, and vomitting. Left unchecked, ulcers or cancer may develop.
DIG is more than a digestive aid. It works with the liver, gall bladder and spleen to promote normal function of the digestive system.
DIG also benefits the lympatic and urinary system. It helps in the process of bile which digests fat and prevents constipation. It helps with gas bloating, fluid retention, digestion and in the assimilation of nutrients.
DIG improves digestion and most ailments are benefited when digestion is strengthened. Taken regularly, DIG helps to calm a nervous stomach, aids digestion, provides enzymes, stimulates appetite and nutritionally supports the digestive tract.
One of the herbs in DIG is Catnip, which is considered "nature's Alka-Seltzer".
